Lorcat When I discovered this album I was hooked from start to finish.

I feel that music tends to sound best in the native language of the composer. Sometimes I prefer not knowing what the words mean; that means I can hear the sounds as part of the fabric of the music and my imagination is not bound by someone else's thoughts. It's also about respect for other cultures.

My favourite track is whichever one I am listening to at the time. Favorite track: Neulana Hetkessa.

silentt29 The piano melody (4:14) always gives me goosebumps. It's one of my favorite Kauan songs. Favorite track: Sokea Sisar.

Pie Played the first two albums & hated 'em (the "black metal" label should have been a clue) Anyway, the third record is much (MUCH) more to my liking. Discogs has assigned it a "post rock" label; that sounds about right. Beautiful, oft times melancholy, music - and the Finnish vocals only enhance the mood. I am very impressed.

about

Third album of this successful Russian band could be a real surprise for those familiar to early Kauan works mixing folk, black and doom metal. “Aava Tuulen Maa” shows musicians’ yearning for more lyrical and soft music filled with refined atmosphere of calmness and melancholy. Harmonic combination of guitars and male vocals with piano and violin gives birth to unbelievably beautiful melodies filled with dark romanticism and unbounded nature spirits. New Kauan album is addressed to fans of such bands as Tenhi, Nest and October Falls. The 20-page booklet is illustrated with watercolour paints adding new strokes to the musical mood of the album.
